Police on Thursday arrested a restaurateur in the Limassol district after he allegedly bit off part of his employee’s ear.
The 53-year-old man who owns a restaurant in Pissouri, was arrested in the morning after it was reported to police that he had bitten off part of the right ear of his employee, 51, during a fight.
“The victim worked as a waiter at the 53-year-old suspect’s restaurant and under circumstances that are being investigated, they started to fight,” Limassol CID chief Ioannis Soteriades said. “The fight moved to the restaurant’s parking lot where the pair fell on the ground and the 51-year-old had part of his ear severed.”
The man was rushed to Limassol hospital where he underwent surgery to reattach the severed part while police arrested his boss.
The suspect admitted to assaulting his employee but denied biting his ear.
He is expected to be brought before court on Friday.
