Pissouri on Tuesday welcomed its inclusion in the list of the World Tourism Organisation’s list of the Top Tourist Villages of the world.
‘‘Here in Pissouri we celebrate this success by embracing tourism as a way for strengthening our society and bringing prosperity for a brighter future,” vice mayor of Pissouri Evripides Antoniades said.
Pissouri and Kalopanayiotis were last week included in the UNWTO’s list of top tourism villages.
The programme promotes cooperation, active participation and the enrichment of the communities involved.
Antoniades put Pissouri’s inclusion on the list down to it promoting economic development, local traditions and living conditions of the local people.
